You've selected your graphics and fonts, now it's time to arrange, rearrange, and arrange them again. Software makes it easy to try out a multitude of arrangements.

This is Lesson 7 in the 9-Day Create a Greeting Card Class. If you did not receive or lost a previous lesson, retrieve it here: Missing Lessons

Definitions
Where to Put It
While the software makes it easy, where you put things is governed by certain rules and principles of good design. If you really want to learn a bit more about graphic design, dig into the bonus material on this page.

Instruction
Grid It!
Even something as simple as a greeting card can benefit from a grid - an underlying structure holding the design together. Learn how a grid can help you arrange and align text and graphics.

Assignment
Move It Around
Your assignment today is to try out as many different layouts as possible. Move your text and graphics around. Resize them. Try eliminating one or more pieces of clip art or try a different font. Here's where you can really have fun and learn the page layout capabilities of your software.

Extra! Extra!
This lesson has some extra assignments. Look at a variety of greeting cards and critique the font and graphics selection and the layout. Consider what you might do differently and why.

DTP Classroom
Come on into the classroom forum and post your greeting card makeover suggestions for the extra assignment projects. Having trouble changing the layout in your software? Ask for help.
