TODAY'S ARTICLE:
The #1 Outsource Hiring Secret
I'm going to make a confession right now.
Sometimes outsourcing can be a nightmare!
Now, most of you know I'm a huge fan of
outsourcing and having your own team of
outsourced workers.
I have multiple friends who have entire
teams of people who work in the Philippines.
All of them are very successful, but all of
them struggle from time to time with their
employees.
They've all told me over and over again that
the #1 secret to hiring an outsourced
worker, or any employee for that matter, is
to define exactly the type of person you're
looking for and BE PATIENT in your search
for that person.
An Australian friend of mine who employs
outsourced workers told me once...
"David, if you're going to be build a world
class business, you must have world class
employees.
And in order to find world class employees,
you have to have a lot of patience and
interview a lot people."
He likened it to finding a prince. He said,
"You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find
your prince."
So today when I'm hiring a new outsourced
employee...

...This Is What I Do
_______________________
Step 1 - Define the skill sets I'm looking
for
Step 2 - Find a group of 15 or so people
who meet the qualifications
Step 3 - Briefly interview each person
(using Skype) and score them
Step 4 - Narrow the selection down to 3
candidates
Step 5 - Give each of those candidates an
assignment to complete with a deadline
Step 6 - Give the winner a second, more
complex assignment to complete with a
deadline
Step 7 - Don't stop the process just because
I think I've found the one I want to hire
I can't tell you how many times I
interviewed someone, gave them a project,
felt really good about them, but found an
even BETTER person later on as I continued
the hiring process.

Here's a Few More Hiring Tips
__________________________
There's always exceptions to these rules,
but they've helped me immensely when
building a business team.
TIP #1
Never just hop on the first or second person
that impresses you. Always go through the
numbers before I narrow down my selection.
If I don't feel really awesome about any,
interview more people.
TIP #2
Never hire someone who doesn't already
possess the skills you're looking for.
TIP #3
Always look at past projects, talk to
references if you have any and give the
person projects to complete to prove their
skills and ability.
TIP #4
Get other employees involved in the hiring
process.

In fact, Joel just opened a live,
functioning office in the Phillipines just
last month.
Joel's interview is worth the entire cost
