My Seminar In Africa (A True Story)

Several years ago I was contacted by a
person in Kenya, Africa who invited me
to come and speak to some African
business executives.
It was a strange request.
I had never been approached by anyone in
Africa for a speaking or consulting
engagement.
He asked me if I had ever been to Africa
and if I was interested in visiting his
country.
I told him, "No," I had never visited
Africa and that I thought it would be
cool as heck to come to Africa.
So in his next email he made me...

safari

So just like he promised, he flew me
over to Nairobi, Kenya in Africa.
I did a 2 day marketing seminar. There
were some very impressive executives in
attendance.
One fellow was the head of marketing for
Firestone tires in West Africa.
Another gentleman was the CEO of the
largest newspaper in Uganda.
A third fellow owned and operated one of
the largest soap factories in Kenya.
They were all very bright business
people and I had a blast with them.

This turned out to be one of the funnest
trips I'd ever been on.

weekend experience for your speaker and
their spouse.
IDEA #3
Look around for activities that
highlight your local city. If you're in
L.A., create a "Hollywood Day" or if
you're in Washington D.C., create a
"Patriotic Day."
Here in Houston I would create a "Texas
Weekend" and send them to a Dude Ranch
or something.
Be creative.
Many speakers would never do these types
of exotic and unique activities unless
they were invited to do them.
You'll be amazed at the caliber of
people that you can attract with the
right offer.
