TODAY'S ARTICLE:

     "Avoid This Deadly Selling Mistake"

Just last week I was asked by a friend of mine to
take a look at a marketing greeting card he had
created to attract some prospects to his business.

I immediately saw a problem.

He was "throwing up" on his prospects. His card
was packed full of sales information.

He had product options, graphics, features,
benefits, prices, etc. etc.

No, No, No, No, No, No!

That's not gonna get you the response you're
looking for.

It might be a graphic designers dream, but it's a
marketers nightmare.

My friend had committed on of the deadliest
selling mistakes you can make.

SELLING BEYOND THE NEXT STEP!

Here's Exactly What I Mean...
________________________________

Your sales system should be like climbing a ladder
- - it should only be done one step at a time.

I like to think of a sales system in three phases.

PHASE 1 - GENERATE A LEAD
___________________________

STEP 1 - Generate interest

STEP 2 - Make an offer

STEP 3 - Tell the reason why

STEP 4 - Call to action

STEP 5 - Capture lead

PHASE 2 - CONVERT A LEAD
_________________________

STEP 6 - Generate interest

STEP 7 - Make an offer

STEP 8 - Tell the reason why

STEP 9 - Call to action

STEP 10 - Make a sale

PHASE 3 - GENERATE REFERRALS
______________________________

STEP 11 - Deliver product/service

STEP 12 - Provide awesome service

STEP 13 - Stay in touch

STEP 14 - Ask for referrals

Now Let Me Ask You a Question...

What would happen if you took your prospect
and went from STEP 1 and jumped her to
STEP 7?

You went from generating interest on a
lead generation offer straight to a call
to action on your main product.

That's called, "throwing up on a prospect."

It's like taking a girl out and asking
her to marry you on the first date.

99.7 times out of a 100, she's gonna
say, "NO!"

Here's the Right Way To Do It...

ONLY sell the next step.

If the next step is to send someone to a
website, then ONLY create benefits that
get someone to visit your website.

If the next step is a phone call, ONLY
sell the benefits of making a phone
call.

If the next step is an office visit,
ONLY sell the benefits of the office
visit.

ONLY sell the next step!!

People usually make decisions in
baby steps. If you don't give people
baby steps, you'll usually lose them.
