They take still images and add subtle movement in a discreet area of the image. The result is a still image with isolated movement - a very nice effect. There really isn't much that can't be programmed these days. A post on the New York Times' Bits blog pointed me to the McWorld - home of a game and story portal for kids. It really is an impressive production. Lots of colorful, interesting illustrations, innovative interfaces, and, one thing I have not seen (or heard) before, audio rollovers (you roll over a button and a voice tells you what the button does). So a lot of tips have piled up. 1, How to cut out a groove to fit a tongue in a 3D model with the INTERFERE command Bill Walker sent me this tip. Sometimes you need to cut out part of one 3D object to fit another object. For example, in tongue & grove construction, you need to cut out the groove to fit the tongue. You can make this process easy with an option of the INTERFERE command. Follow these steps.... 2. Get rid of the annoying tooltip when you hover over an object A reader of my book, AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT Bible (the 2010 version) wrote me the following: "Whenever the mouse crosshairs land on [hover over] a line in a drawing, a small 'window' appears, listing Line. Color. By layer Layer. Plan Linetype. Continuous This is extremely annoying ... This was never the case with previous versions of AutoCAD, and in my opinion, is not an 'upgrade' but a retrograde move." As you can see, he is quite annoyed. Frankly... Find out how to get rid of the "rollover tooltip.". 3. How to create a quick polar array with the ROTATE command's Copy option Instead of creating a polar array, in some situations, you can use the ROTATE command's Copy option. It works best when you want to end up with 2 or 3 objects, because you need to repeat the ROTATE command for each copy. For example, let's say that I want to... Get the steps! 4. Align a rectangle with a line on the fly You can align a rectangle with a line or other existing object on the fly, avoiding the need for a separate rotation. Watch the video or read the steps. 5. Excellent resource: CAD portal and forum I want to introduce you to a great resource: CADstudio and CADforum. CADstudio is a free multi-language CAD portal (the link is to the English section) supporting CAD and GIS users, especially users of Autodesk products. CADforum is a free forum where you can ask questions and get answers. You'll find a discussion forum with 90.000 postings and about 190.000 registered users. Find out more! 6.
